Bangladeshi Parents and Carers Association (BPCA) is a specialist voluntary organisation working with people with multiple disabilities.
The charity started as a family led project in 1999 and went on to develop one of the largest Day Care centres in the voluntary sector in Tower Hamlets, with a second day centre in Newham which opened in 2011.
MISSION
Our mission is to promote the wellbeing and independence of adults with multiple disabilities living in East London.
BPCA has been a cornerstone for families in Tower Hamlets and Newham, we welcome and support individuals from all communities across the East End.
We do this by providing culturally appropriate tailored support and care in our Day Centres, where our qualified and diverse staff create a nurturing, friendly and fun environment. Our recreational, educational and wellbeing programmes enable our users to develop social skills, giving them the tools to integrate into the community and exercise their independence and choice.
Our two centres—Sapphire and Opal — provide safe spaces where individuals receive personalised, holistic support. As the needs of our communities evolve, we aim to broaden our impact through innovative arts and wellbeing programs, helping individuals with disabilities explore creative expression, improve mental health, and build social skills.
VALUES
Our values are the essence of what we stand for
OUR TEAM
We take time to really get to know the people we work for.
For us, care starts with finding out stories, memories, likes, dislikes, existing routines and lifestyle. This person centred approach is one of the many ways we support the wellbeing of our users.
All of our staff members hold NVQ qualifications in Health and Social Care and Senior Employees have higher levels of training in Leadership and Management. On top of existing qualifications, our carers also go through a specialised healthcare training with us, as well as ongoing professional development. Our Senior Coordinators support, monitor and supervise our team of carers so they can always do a great job of looking after those in need.
We also provide support and can train family, friends or neighbours who might assist in the caring process.

I have been working here for 15 years and I have seen the organisation grow and flourish during this time. My attachment to BPCA comes from my personal experience of client satisfaction. Our users are provided with the opportunities to develop socially, mentally and physically. Working here has enabled me to fulfill my passion of helping the less abled alongside building my career. I am very happy to continue working in this positive environment and I am excited about future opportunities.
