History
Bangladeshi Parents and Carers Association (BPCA) were formed in 1998 and is a voluntary organisation working with people with multiple disabilities. It is a family’s led project which provides day care facilities for high dependency users.
What do we provide?
We provide culturally appropriate day service for people with Learning, Physical and sensory disabilities. We provide variety education, social and leisure activity. We have a fully equipped day centre with ICT training facilty, state of the sensory room, arts and craft work shop and multipurpose activity rooms. We also provide community based activities, residential programme and a variety of recreational and leisure activities.
Who is it for?
Adults with learning, physical and sensory disabilities. Adults from the Bangladeshi and other Minority and Ethnic Communities.
Services
Services provided by the BPCA are tailor made to meet the changing needs of the clients as it is delivered in the most professional manner. BPCA is committed to provide a learning, working and social environment in which the rights and dignity of all its members are respected. Our services are designed to help greater involvement of those who are disabled and their parents, carers or guardians.
Staff
All Staff have NVQ qualifications in care. Senior staffs have higher level training on the learning Disability Award Frame work (LDAF, Level 2, 3 and 4). Ongoing training and support is provided for all new staff. Regular supervision is provided to all members of staff. Appraisals and staff meetings are held regularly.
